From Amarillo to Vail

It's a long trip but fun because it's Shana, Carter, and Lucy's first time. Of course Lucy won't remember this but Carter probably will.

We are on our way to Vail Colorado today thanks to mom and dad who let us use their time share this year and their van to get here.

Cotton Bowl, Dog Bowl

We are taking Beamer to the dog bowl today at the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park. It will definitely be fun for Beamer. But it will be fun for me too just because I get to walk on the field where the Sooners have beaten the Longhorns for so many years in the Red River Rivalry.

Plano Restaurant Scores

I used to like this place called Chubbys. Shana, Carter, Lucy, and I went there today and I was almost afraid to eat the food. It didn’t help that they had a plumbing problem. You know its bad when you walk in and your 7-year-old says “Daddy, it has a bad smell.” But we asked for a different booth and it was okay. After we placed our order, I checked Plano’s Food Establishment Inspection Scores website on my iPhone and I wasn’t encouraged.

I browsed the website later and wasn’t surprised to see Chipotle had straight A’s at both of their Plano locations for the last three inspections. Only four D’s (mostly Asian descent), 40 C’s, 200 B’s, 620 A’s (again, many Asian descent). So why out of 620 A restaurants to choose from did we ended up at a C? Just trying something different I guess.

Chipotle Calories

I really like Chipotle. Food with integrity, vegetarian feed animals, no hormones, no antibiotics. (at least 50% in Texas). But my goodness look at the calories you ingest with one burrito! http://chipotlecalories.net/
